52nd International Ski Congress

52nd International Ski Congress

Die HerausforderungThe challenge

The 52nd FIS Congress – originally planned for 2020 in Portoroz, Slovenia – was postponed twice and finally held completely virtually in Zurich in June 2021 due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. To ensure that all stakeholders with their very different participation rights could be perfectly integrated into the virtual congress world, Scenotech designed and implemented a comprehensive and very complex zoom structure. Furthermore, it was essential that the election process for the Presidency and the Council, as well as all other important votes, could be carried out perfectly and absolutely trouble-free.

To ensure that the FIS representatives present on site had a perfect infrastructure at their disposal, Scenotech designed and implemented a studio that was completely tailored to their needs and individual requirements.

Der EventThe Event

The FIS Congress is the General Assembly of the International Ski Federation (FIS) which takes place every two years.

This year’s Congress was a particularly historic occasion for the International Ski Federation, as after the resignation of long-time FIS President Gian Franco Kasper, only the fifth President in the Federation’s history was elected. In addition, a new Council was elected by the 123 voting FIS Members. In addition, the Mainau Manifesto was adopted, which will serve as a guiding document for the sustainability of the FIS in the coming years.
